Hello to All.
British Orienteering has announced that orienteering can return to England on the 1st August 2020 (link here). The return is subject to strict guidelines set by BO and includes; pre-registration, no entry on day or cash payments, time-slots, social distancing, COVID-hygene, and more… The next WIGHTO event would likely be October so we’ll keep an eye on things and see what we’re able to do by then.
Next up we will need to have the clubs AGM [Hopefully in mid August] then start planning events for the autumn period as usual. Date for AGM will be announced!
Stay safe & hope to see you all soon! Peter [Wighto Chair]
In the meantime WIGHTO are to have two quiz walks for you to take part in.
Brian & Pete B have planned their usual devious walk this year in Cowes.
Glyn & Sue are planning their walk around Totland & Freshwater.
We are still unable to stage any gatherings, so you can do these walks at your leisure and at any time but no more than 6 in one group.
Please follow all local and national COVID-19 rules and guidance when taking part. Participants must not attend if they or a member of their household has COVID-19 symptoms, or if they have been asked to isolate by NHS Test and Trace.
The Cowes walk will be available from the 15th July to 15th August 2020
FREE OF CHARGE!!
Chris Pritchett has kindly allowed for you to collect the Cowes quiz walk from his front porch at: 2 Admiral Way, Cowes, PO31 7FL.
From there you can follow instructions provided. Once you’ve completed the quiz then return your answer sheet to the same address. If you have any queries then contact Peter Bartlett on 07870304006. Sorry that you won’t be able to harass Peter & Brian once you’ve finished but we hope you enjoy what we’ve done this year. The results will be posted on the website after the 15th August but if you need to know the answer’s then they can be provided upon request.
