It was nice to see a good turn out at this event. Some old faces & many new faces joined the regulars on a crisp but bright day. It made a change to use the northern side of the forest which believe it or not was drier that southern side. The event wasn’t without incident. So many registered on the orange course that we ran out of printed maps. Thankfully Chris was able to ‘handrolic’ some more copies on some blank maps. Ian Ralph had a ‘dizzy turn’ & was very grateful to the Butler party who got him back to the finish. Thankfully after sitting in the sun, drinking water & sweet tea, he made a full recovery.
It was encouraging that those that took part, joined or renewed there membership to the club. Look forward to seeing everyone at the next event in March at a NEW VENUE, never been used for orienteering before. St CATHERINES DOWN & HOY MONUMENT. Not one to miss!!!
Thanks to all that helped on the Firestone Event. (Peter Bartlett, Club Chair & Organiser).
