Borthwood Copse is a deciduous woodland with a good variety of ancient oak and chestnut trees, as well as huge beech trees, a variety of birches, hazels, rowen and other native flora and fauna. The woodland is a special site as several different species of bats live there, this includes the rare Bechstein’s bat (Meiotis bechsteinii). The National Trust manage the site for the conservation of its biodiversity and keeping dogs on a lead is an easy way in which we can supports nature. Thank you to the National Trust for use of the site from all of us.
